About Paul

About Paul

I’m Paul Lane, a sound designer and mixer with over 20 years’ experience across television, film, sport, documentaries and digital content.

I began my career at BBC Radio Drama before moving into senior audio roles with Walt Disney, ESPN and UEFA, and later founded and ran my own London post-production studio, Supersonic, for over 10 years.

During that time I worked with many of the UK’s leading broadcasters, production companies and entertainment brands, including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky, BT, Disney, Amazon, Netflix, Warner Bros and Discovery. I’ve mixed more than 50 documentaries and TV programmes, as well as promos, commercials and short-form content.

My work has taken me from long-form documentary and entertainment to international sport and live broadcast, working alongside producers, editors and some of the industry’s most respected creative teams. I’ve also worked on the technical side of post-production — developing workflows, managing audio departments and helping design and deliver professional audio facilities. At ESPN I managed multiple studios and daily sessions, while my work with Walt Disney included responsibility for the delivery of a new audio facility in London.

That combination of creative experience and technical knowledge has always been central to how I work. I understand what it takes to get a project sounding right, but also what it takes to get it delivered — often under pressure and to tight deadlines.

I’m now based in Brisbane, where I run East Coast Audio. Although I’m on the other side of the world, I continue to work with UK clients and production teams. Having spent my entire professional career in the UK industry, I know the people, the workflows and the standards — and I understand what clients expect from a senior post-production sound professional.
